Premier League Players Who Stand Out

The Premier League is by far and away the most exciting and watched league in the world.

There are some superb teams in England’s top flight, with some great players plying their trade, but with so many stars it can be hard for players to really stand out amongst the crowd. There are, however, some who manage to shine at their clubs, leading the way in the English Premier League.

David De Gea

Manchester United have a lot of stars in their team but do any of them make the difference as often as David De Gea? They say that a good goalkeeper will earn a team point son their own throughout the season, and this has proven to be the case for the last 5+ years. While La Liga giants Real Madrid have come sniffing on more than one occasion, De Gea has remained at Old Trafford, pulling off unbelievable saves off on a regular basis. He’s the best keeper in the world in many people’s opinion and it’s easy to see why.

Virgil Van Dijk

The Liverpool defence had long needed shoring up, so they paid out £75 million for Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk, and what a decision that is proving to be. The Dutchman starred at both Celtic and then Southampton, but he’s now proving himself to be one of the best centre backs in world football. He’s big and powerful, but he’s also a leader, and this has been key since his big money move to Anfield. Manchester City Chelsea were after the 27-year-old before he joined Jorgen Klopp’s men, and they’ll certainly rue not getting the deal done.

Kevin De Bruyne

What can you say about Kevin De Bruyne that hasn’t already been said? He’s comfortably one of the best midfielders on the planet right now, even though he’s currently out injured. The Belgian had to take a sideways step after not getting the chance to impress at Chelsea, but his spell at Wolfsburg did him wonders, and not he’s starring in Guardiola’s City side. 35 goals and 57 assists in just 143 games tells you what De Bruyne is about, with his vision often being on a completely different level when compared to other players in the league. At 27, there’s still a hell of a lot more to come too.

Harry Kane

Is there a better out and out striker around in world football than Harry Kane? Probably not. The 25-year-old Spurs striker has proven himself to be a consistent goal getter at the highest levels and he walked away with the golden boot from this year’s World Cup too. Even though he hasn’t really had a break this summer, the Londoner has still managed to weigh in with 2 goals and an assist from his first 5 games, finally ending the infamous August curse. He’s certain to add to his impressive record of 142 goals in 218 games as the season goes on.
